Hints and Tricks

A window for calculating area- and volume-parameters needed for estimation is available in the Auto Estimation and the Define Methods window. The intention is to give a reasonable estimate of unknown parameters.

The following example will show how this feature can be used.

We want to estimate the weight of H3 Superstructure. Open the Estimation window. Notice that the parameter Volume Superstructure is empty. This parameter is needed to do an estimate of the weight. To calculate this parameter, type ‘calc’ in the Value field.

The Composite Parameter window pops up. By filling in the length, height and breadth, the volume is calculated. Now it is possible to continue the weight estimation.

This window can also be accessed from the Methods window.
