To install a new ShipWeight Enterprise 14.0, follow these steps:

1. Make sure you have a MS SQL Server available for the installation of the databases. If not, please obtain a version of MS SQL Server Express from here. Install the this on your server.

2. Download and run the file ShipWeight Server 14.msi on your server to install the ShipWeight databases onto the MS SQL Server.

3. Download and run the file ShipWeight Client Installation v14-05.exe on your client machine to install the ShipWeight application.

4. Follow the instructions here to set up your license using your product key, or right click and run the CMInstall.exe file as administrator in the ShipWeight 14 folder on the client machine (prior to starting ShipWeight) to obtain a trial license when you start ShipWeight.

To update from ShipWeight 12 or 13 to ShipWeight 14.0, follow these steps:

1. Download and run the file ShipWeight Server 14.0 –  update.msi on the server hosting the ShipWeight databases to update the databases. As an alternative, you may download the script file (file is zipped) ShipWeightUpdateDB1400.sql and run this on the SQL Server using Microsoft Management Studio, for a more manual and controlled update. It is enough to either run the script, or run the msi file, you do not need to do both,

Note: The upgrade script (and msi file) will make changes to the following all databases starting with sdb_ and SW, assuming that they are ShipWeight databases.  If the SQL instance where the ShipWeight databases are installed also hosts other databases starting with sdb_ or SW and not belonging to ShipWeight, please do not perform the update as described here.  Instead, please send us a list of names of the databases starting with sdb_ or SW but not beloning to ShipWeight so we can send you a modified update script where these databases are excepted by the script. 

2. Download and run the file ShipWeight Client Installation v14-06.exe  

on your client machine to install the ShipWeight application. You may install this side-by-side with version 13.

To update to latest patch, please download and install ShipWeightClientPatch14-05.exe on the client machine. 

The patches are cumulative, so if you install the latest patch it will include all previous patches as well.   A patch can only be installed on the same main version.
